TAX LODGEMENT SERVICES T/A Night Tax AI (ABN 39 656 598 140) ("Night Tax AI", "we", "us") is a registered Australian tax agent (Tax Agent Number 26153991). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and our confidentiality obligations under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009.

Information we collect

To prepare and lodge your tax return we collect information such as your name, contact details, date of birth, tax file number (TFN), bank details for refunds, occupation, income statements, deduction records, and any documents you upload. We also collect technical data (device, browser, IP address) when you use our website.

How we use your information

• Preparing, reviewing and lodging your tax return with the ATO.
• Verifying your identity as required by the TPB and ATO.
• Communicating with you about your return and our services.
• Meeting our record-keeping and legal obligations.
• Improving our service, including our AI deduction suggestions.

Your Tax File Number

Your TFN is handled under the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015. We use it only to lodge your return and communicate with the ATO on your behalf. We never sell it and never disclose it for marketing.

Disclosure

We disclose information to the ATO when lodging your return, and to trusted service providers (such as secure hosting, identity verification and payment processors) who are bound by confidentiality. We do not sell your personal information.

Security & storage

Data is stored in Australia where possible, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, with role-based access controls. We retain records for at least five years as required by tax law.

Your rights

You can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You can also make a privacy complaint. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
